APPLEDORE GIG CLUB -CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct for our Club is based on guidelines from the Cornish Pilot Gig Association and all members (Adults and Juniors) of the Club are expected to abide by the rules. They are in place to ensure the safety of all members and that the integrity of the Club is upheld at all times.

1. Consider the well being and safety of all.

2. Display high standards of personal conduct at all times when representing your Club i.e. no swearing, shouting from the boat, disrespecting fellow rowers/club members, bystanders or officials.

3. No physical violence to be displayed.

4. No verbal abuse to be displayed.

5. Treat everyone in a way in which you would like to be treated.

6. Any form of complaint should first be directed to your Coach or Captain. Do not conduct arguments/disagreements in public.

7. If you have cause for complaint of either Coach or Captain, then speak to another member of the Management Committee.

8. Promote the benefits of our sport in participation both socially and in competition.

9. Adhere to Guidelines/Rules as set by the CPGA and the Club e.g. Child Protection, Health & Safety, Sea Safety, Racing Rules etc

10. Encourage all participants to value their performance and those of others – not just results.

11. Ensure suitability of age, ability and experience to the activity.

12. Set a good example – Accept the rules of the Umpire’s decision, maintain composure at all times and not shout or ridicule rowers or officials.

13. Promote the positive aspects of our sport, especially fair play, friendship and respect.

14. Anyone found behaving in a manner detrimental to the Club may be faced with disciplinary action.

15. This is YOUR club, ENJOY it. Be proud and make others proud of you.
